My application returns DX9 Error 0x8878000a. What is the definition of this?

You can find the meaning of an error by using the DirectX Error Lookup Utility, DXErr.exe in Bin\DXUtils of DXSDK folder. Just enter the Error_Id and select the decimal or hex radial button. For example, entering 0x8878000a in the lookup box will return the following heap of data

HRESULT: 0x8878000a (2289565706)
Name: DSERR_ALLOCATED
Description: The call failed because resources (such as a priority level)
were already being used by another caller
Severity code: Failed
Facility Code: Unknown (2168)
Error Code: 0x000a (10)

Also DirectX 9.0 SDK includes a pair of utility functions and several macros designed to simplify the task of debugging your application. The function and macro declarations are in Dxerr9.h. These functions are contained in the Dxerr9.lib library. You can use them to understand the error programmatically.
