How can I understand which version of DirectX is installed?
From the Start menu select Run and type "dxdiag". The system tab will contain the DirectX Version currently installed on your system. This will also give you a bag full of info about your system, the multimedia drivers installed, and how well your system is performing. You can even troubleshoot and fix your system problems using dxdiag.FAQ Menu
