What DirectX development tools exist?

The following tools help in developing and troubleshooting DirectX They are DirectX Caps Viewer (to view the capabilities of your Display Card), DirectX Control Panel Application (to examine and modify the properties of DirectX components), DirectX Diagnostic Tool(to gather info regarding the system and DirectX components installed), Kill Help Utility to kill crashed DirectX applications (especially for Windows 98/Me), D3DSpy ( It monitors function calls to the Direct3D API, and shows a representation of Direct3D's internal state. This is valuable when writing a Direct3D program, or when trying to understand why a program is misbehaving. It can also be used to improve the performance of a Direct3D program by identifying redundant or inefficient use of the Direct3D API. These tools will be installed with DirectX SDK.
