Paging: is there a way to use direct sql to get the desired record range without workarounds?
Unfortunately, not with the present versions of SQL Servers. However, SS 2005 will have Common Table Expressions and the ROW_NUMBER () feature, which can be combined to build much easier paging facilities. Basically, within the CTE you will select a ROW_NUMBER (), then in the outer query you'll specify bounds.Back
