How To Post In The Forums

Posting in the Programmer's Heaven forums is straightforward and can be a great way to get answers to your questions and feedback on your ideas, as well as a way to give back to the community by helping others.

Posting a new message

To start a discussion, you should post a new thread. This is a five-step process.

1. If you have a Programmer's Heaven account, log in to it. If not, you must register before you can post messages.

2. Once you have registered and logged in, go to the forum start page and locate the forum that is most appropriate to your question, and enter that forum.

3. Locate the "new thread" button on that forum. It is always located on the right-hand side of the page, just above the message list. In the screen shot below, it is picked out by the red rectangle.

4. Enter a sensible subject for your post (one that describes your problem well, not something generic like "help" or "i am stupid plz do my homework"). Then enter details. Enclose any code that you post in
...
tags so that indentation is retained when it is displayed, otherwise it is hard for others to read.

5. If it is your first time posting or you have used style tags (such as the code tag) and want to check how your post will look, use the "Preview Thread" button. Then, when you're happy with your post, click the "Post Thread" button.

If you have followed these steps, then congratulations - you have posted on the PH forums.
