General Help

When was Programmers Heaven started? Who created it?
Programmers Heaven was started in 1996 by a company called Synchron Data. Originally intended to support a set of two CD-ROMs known as Programmers Heaven 1 & 2, it has since changed to become a complete developers community.

What are the Programmers Heaven CD-ROM's?

Although the CD-ROMs are no longer available, you can still find all the resources online. In a way, this site is the CD-ROMs!

What is CodePedia?
CodePedia is a subsite of Programmers Heaven. On Programmers Heaven, you can submit articles, files and help out others. On CodePedia, you join the community in writing information. Everyone can edit almost every page so everyone's knowledge can be added to an article. If you know about something that the poster missed, you simply click "Edit This Page" and add it!

What servers do you use?
Programmers Heaven is hosted at http://www.infomagic.net and runs on a Dell PowerEdge 1400SC Dual Pentium 3 933MHz. A Compaq Proliant 800 is used to manage the banners.

How do I get help for my problem?
Programmers Heaven has a messageboard for many subjects. Take a look at the list and select the board that most suits your needs.

Who can I contact at Programmers Heaven to get help?
With so many projects at hand and the site getting busier all the time, we don't have time or resources to help with individual problems. Try to find a messageboard you can post your question on. Or if you prefer, paid consulting is available from us via our consulting company, Synchron Data.

How do I contact other users?
If you click on the user's name, you will be sent to their personal page. On that page, you can use the "Write a Message" link to send them a message.

How do I find other users?
In the box on the left of every page, you will see a link to the User Search page. Just fill in all or part of the user's name and click "Find User".

You can also click on the username wherever you see it.

How does the search work?
Every page has a search box on it in the box to the left that works the same as any other simple search. Enter the term you wish to search for and click the link to submit.

You can also click the link to the advanced search. This will let you specify which messageboards or areas (links, articles, etc.) of the site to look in. It also includes some helpful tips to make your search more productive.

See the Search help for more information.

How do I report a broken link?
If you find a broken link, you can use the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page or post on the "Comments on this Site" board to let us know. If this was a link on Programmers Heaven, please let us know what page it was on and what the URL was that it should have sent you to. If it was a link from outside Programmers Heaven, please go back to that site and let them know that they need to fix the link.

How do I submit feedback on this site?
We have a messageboard, Comments on this Site, just for that. Feel free to send us some comments!

How do I report abuse?
If you find that someone is abusing this site, then please let us know so that we can keep the site clean.
