3G Platform to Support Linux

Texas Instruments (TI) said Tuesday that its OMAP platform for next-generation wireless devices will support the Linux operating system.

TI has been extending support for its wireless platform in recent months, adding support for technologies such as streaming media. It also has built in support for Microsoft's Windows CE-based smart phone platform.
