Palm software runs four times as many handheld computers as the competing system from Microsoft. So why do some analysts believe market leader Palm should be worried?

Since the April introduction of Microsoft's third version of software for handheld organizers--after the first two failed to challenge Palm--the company's market share has grown to 18 percent from 10 percent, according to researcher IDC.
