Codepatents has launched a new resource for programmers and computer engineers by providing information on new software related patents granted in US via RSS feed.
The feed can be found at
http://www.codepatents.comt/feed/softpatents.xml.
Patents are public documents with an ever-increasing body of technical knowledge that may not appear in papers and books for years.
Keeping track of these patents offers a unique insight into developments in the software industry and makes it possible to tap the knowledge inside these public documents, for licensing or other purposes.
The feed, in effect, brings to subscribers the relevant new software-related patents in the world, with as many as 40% of patents issued in the US being granted to non-Americans.
Every week, the service searches the US Patent and Trademark Office database, looking for software-related patents including processes, methods and algorithms and sends the results through an RSS feed updated from Monday to Friday.
Each patent in the feed will have a one-line description of the patent, a brief description of the patent, a link to the patent main descriptive drawing and an external link to the patent's full text and images.
Every patent in the feed is evaluated by a human being. Hardware and device patents are removed and grouped in a separate feed.
