File system is the most critical data structure of Linux operating system, which is responsible for organizing data on the hard drive. It ensures quick and easy accessing of your data from the disk. Linux uses file system entries to locate files on the hard drive and access them. But, in some cases, the Linux file system become read-only and you can not access data from your system.
