Description

GrabzIt a recently formed company has launched a screenshot service. This service provides screenshots of other websites for free, via our API’s. These API’s are available in five different languages including ASP.NET.

Unlike our competitors GrabzIt has tried to make our service as flexible as possible, such as allowing the programmatic customization of cookies and seven different output image formats.

GrabzIt’s whole approach is open all our API Libraries were possible are open source and available in Google Code. This is reflected in our system many of our competitors tell developers little of what is going on with their screenshots we have a diagnostics system, which shows the developers screenshots currently being queued and the output. Drilling down into the output will show either show all the parameters used to request the screenshot along with either the screenshot image or an error message explaining why it was not taken.

GrabzIt also uses a callback approach when providing screenshots this allows a developer to request a screenshot be taken, and then when it is ready the GrabzIt server sends the details to the developer’s server allowing it to be downloaded. This has allowed in ASP.NET an event technique to be supported, so that when a screenshot is ready a ScreenShotComplete event is fired.
