Currently I am looking at getting new project management tools for my Business Lab company. The company builds and prototypes new business ideas into companies, and at the moment there are a number of startup ideas that require more or less of software development, and I am looking at expanding the teams working (mostly remotely) with the projects.
Currently most of the projects use
Trac, and I like the fact, that it's quite simple, and well integrated with the tools that the developers use (Eclipse), but in many cases it's too simple, and I am missing things such as :
- A good sprint and release planning.
- A more sophisticated management of the process from high-level user stories, rough requirements, and break-downs into tasks, estimation etc (yes we use the billing plugin, but it's not enough).
- Time, cost, budget management...
