Hello!
I need a free database development tool using an entity relationship diagram (modeling). And automatically generates SQL schemas.
What do you suggest?
Thanks

Try the tool that comes with your database. There are some 'free' tools available for the major databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, etc.). These usually are 'demo' versions that expide in 30-60 days.

Most of the other tools you're going to find are usually stripped-down versions with limited capabilities.

If you want someting that will actually work correctly you'll have to pay for it. I would hesitate to design a database for an expensive platform and then not pay for the modeling tools needed.

Our tool of choice is PowerDesigner from Sybase. It's expensive but well worth the $$ spent in it's capibilities.

If nothing else if you're running Office 2002 and have Vision 2002 try the modeling tools.
