somehow my main address has gotten out to a real nasty list that doen't have an opt-out on it - bastards - anyways, I have written a series of rules in outlook that has gotten rid of all of them so far, but it replies to certain messages explaining how to get a mail to me for any of my friends that are trying to send mail to multiple address for instance. Another rule picks up postmaster replies saying the address doesn't exist when it's one of the junk E-Mailers addresses and sticks them in another folder for future reference. Now I want to defer these postmaster replies to an external app that will go through them and pick up certain information that I will use to start logging and targeting to automatically create an ongoing, self-updating filter as I have found certain consistancies in their attempts to get past normal filtering. The information I want to grab is the address it was sent from (of course), but I also want to get into the subject line, and possibly grab the original message that is normaly contained in a text file attachment. These mails will be in a sub folder that I've created in the inbox folder. Can I access these folders outside of outlook anyways? or does it need to be in the inbox folder itself?
I was able to get into all of this easily with vb6.0, but since it seems they've stuck so much more into 7.0 I was hoping maybe someone knew of a built in feature to access MAPI mail and functions with VB alone.
Any help is greatly appreciated, THanks
