Job Summary:
The Senior Programmer is responsible for developing, writing and debugging code for complex products and applications. This position coordinates with the Technical Director as well as designers, artists and other personnel to develop Shiny Entertainment's current multiplatform videogame project. The Sr. Programmer has a comprehensive understanding of current software applications used in product development and is recognized as a resource in those areas. This position will function in a team-oriented environment and will be responsible for the design and development of software systems in accordance with provided requirements and objectives. The Sr. Programmer must be aware of and follow current coding standards, create readable, re-usable code, and coordinate coding efforts with other team members.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
-->Implement assigned software tasks in both the tools and game engine, including the development of detailed designs for the task, provide input for scheduling, and develop necessary algorithms and debugging software as needed
-->Debugging & firefighting as needed
-->Coordinate the development effort to reach designated goals. Specifically responsible for software design & implementation, documentation, collaboration with Artists, Game Designers and Producers to maximize the potential of the platform
-->Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks
-->Work with minimum supervision in a quick and timely manner to achieve goals and deadlines
-->Coordinate with team Directors in planning and implementing complete systems solutions

Minimum Qualifications:
-->7+ years of professional programming experience, of which 4 years must be in game programming or the development of similar technologies
-->Experience with a wide array of programming tasks on multiple shipped games, such as AI, path finding, rigid body physics, facial animation, IK and low-level rendering
-->Strong debugging skills and knowledge of debugging methodologies
-->Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills
-->Demonstrated ability to write well-structured, readable code
-->Strong knowledge of programming algorithms
-->All-around experience with computer game technologies including AI programming, 3D programming, pipeline technology, UI and collision detection
-->Creative and innovative multiplatform game development experience, with demonstrated ability to ship quality titles under demanding game development schedules
-->Ability to quickly master proprietary tools and development processes
-->Strong passion for creating immersive, high quality videogames
-->Capable of working both as a member of a team, and individually with minimum supervision

Desired Qualifications:
-->University-level degree in computer programming and/or equivalent training, course work and/or practical experience
-->Graduate work in designing artificial intelligence systems for game projects or equivalent technologies
