Single application window - multiple forms

I'm developing an multi-functionality application in C# and I want to go with having only one main window and only one form open in that main window at a time.

Is this feasible in C# with Windows forms?

    So a main window with only one child-window? What's the use of the main (MDI) window?

  • I guess I'm being unclear;

    I just want one window for the app with a menu and for each menu functionality the corresponding form should open in the main window.

    So if I have a 'Reference Data' menu item, that form should open in the main window and should i decide to skip over to say 'Order report' that form should replace the previously open one in the main window.

    Use user controls. Or the other one.

    You know that form is usually meant to mean a window, so it was very confusing...

    Well, close the currently open form and open the requested one. What's the problem exactly?

    By the look of his post, I don't think forms means forms...
    By form he means, I think, a form ;-), this is a little hard to explain...

    This is a form:
    Name _______
    Age ______
    Gender _____
    ....
