data recovery

Does anyone know the name of the tool that the FED's and data recovery co's use to recover data from hard drives. I know that it reads the magnetic field/resedue. If anyone knows of a site and/or information about constuction, cost or details, PLEASE let me know.

    There is not one name for the program and there are many programs ,although it is called full zero wiping. In many cases, you may need a program specific to your hard drive manufacturer to be assured of total success and these are available on the manufacturers website for free, usually.
    CCleaner has a tool called DriveWiper that is free.
