Job Title: Director of Development
Status: Exempt, Full-time
Reports To: Executive Producer
SUMMARY: Working with the Producers and Team Leads to help plan, assess and create new projects and technologies that assist Producers in determining future products for gaming. Provide project management for development team.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports Producer, Associate Producers and Team leads by providing day-to-day guidance and supervision of all employees within the development team, which includes coaching staff for improved performance, evaluating performances, recommending promotions, and salary actions for the development team.
Develops and manages schedules for multiple software projects of components for PC games.
Leads team in development of scalable and flexible architecture.
Contributes to the overall technical position of the company. This includes, but isn't limited to finding and reusing code, technology, and tools, seeking and researching new and relevant technologies.
Recruits programming and art talents.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
B.S. Computer Science, EE, or other technical degree required.
Five to ten years experience with PC entertainment software.
Strong technical background and experience in all aspects of programming and development for entertainment computer software.
Three years minimum of strong managerial experience in leading a team developing software products.
Extensive familiarity with Windows 95 development issues.
Extensive experience in Graphics and 3D.
Fluent in C and C++.
Self motivated with a strong work ethic. Dependable. Capable of maintaining a high energy level for extended periods of time. Performs his/her responsibilities in an efficient and timely manner without frequent supervision.
Familiar with graphic art production and production pipeline
