The freedom certain Iraqi militant groups don't seem interested in. Rather than try and resolve their political power issues diplomatically, they take hostages, mount attacks in civilian areas, etc. It's sick.

I'm not saying the coalition forces are blameless, but it seems to me that it's the militants that are at the root of the violence.

: I am not supporting the millitants but am baffled that you guys are suggesting that the millitants solve their griviences diplomatically, the same things that Bush and Blair should have done in the first place.
If i may ask, did we find the Weapons of mass destruction?

Yes, because Saddam was wide open to diplomatic negotiations, right? The UN weapons inspectors did TRY to do their job before the war. To say no attempt was made to resolve the situation without war seems to me to be inaccurate. They did try stuff.

: If i may ask, did we find the Weapons of mass destruction?
    :
No. Though we do now have a pretty good idea that there aren't any. And possibly that there weren't any. On the other hand, we could have ignored it, the intelligence they thought they had could have been correct and we could have regretted it. We took a chance either way. I'm not certain this was just about WMDs anyway. I do with the governments had been more open about the whole thing, then maybe we wouldn't have got into all this "no WMDs were found so this war was obviously just wrong" things.

The scary thing is that Bush believe he is doing God's work. Even scarier are all the people who believe he is President because of God's divine intervention in the election fiasco. The man is an idiot, and there are few things as dangerous as an idiot with near absolute power who believes he is taking directions from God.

Sounds like fairly typical conservative rhetoric. Nothing really special.

Let me refrase my question. I agree with this type of opinion just partialy. How about you?

There are probably some points I agree with but overall I don't buy into the conservative platform.

: The problem with you Infidel is that you tend to group sentiments into hard and set cartegories, thereby limiting your apreciation of other opinions that would have fallen into the cartegories you nomally dont buy.
I think i agree with Lionb, some stuff in there is agreeable to, e.g.
    [blue]
I am sorry that every time the terrorists hide, it just happens to be inside a “Holy Site.”

I am sorry that Muslim extremists have not yet apologized for the U.S.S.
Cole, the embassy bombings, and for flying a plane into the World Trade Center, which collapsed in part on Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which is one of our Holy Sites.
    [/blue]

The humor in it is also too good to ignore!!
