I go back so far programming in Microsoft basic that I used to do it in DOS.
Right now I am trying to resurrect some programs I wrote using Visual Basic 2.0 Professional Edition. I have on my present computer the VB.EXE file as well as the .VBX files that came with it. However, I have changed computers and residences at least three times since the mid-nineties, when I wrote the programs.
I cant find the disks for VB 2.0. I have my serial number. But apparently when I ported my old files to my new computer I did not transfer a file that I need to show that I have permission to use the custom controls. I think the file is called VB.LIC. Microsoft no longer supports version 2.0. I cant find out what company, if any, supplied the custom controls to Microsoft.
I now program in Visual Basic 4.0, and it wont take the 2.0 files.
Can anyone tell me who I can contact about getting the license file?
