Connection String Settings for Access and SQL Database

Hi,
Well I am not so old in using Visual Basic. I am using vb from last 2 years as a hobby.
I started database programming from last 4 months... however i am using access database. for access database i use simple method

Dim Conn as New ADODB.Connection
Dim Rs as New ADODB.Recordset
Conn.ConnectionString="PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;DATA SOURCE='C:MyDatabase.mdb'"
Conn.Open
Rs.Open "QUERY"

But now i want to move to SQL database for example mySQL

kindly tell me that what is the extenssion of an SQL database and what would be the connection string
