More of a c# question about webservices.

Sorry for posting it here there isn't a c# board.

I am working through a tutorial:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/webservices/webservices/building/frameworkandstudio/essential/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnwebsrv/html/howwebmeth.asp

The problem occurs when it says: You expose Add and Subtract as Web service operations through an .asmx endpoint. To do this, create a new text file named Math.asmx that contains the following simple declaration and place it in the same virtual directory that contains the assembly (note: this goes in the virtual directory itself and not the child bin directory):

<%@ WebService class="MathService"%>

I have never worked with .asmx files. I'd have thought the about declaration would have been pasted in a html page of the .asmx. However when i create the files, it doesn't like the '<%@' or the declaration full stop.

Anyone got any ideas,
