Look around its out there. The reason no one is telling you is because it is illegal for anyone to give 4.5 away for free. But... there are people who offer it for free anyways.

There are other compilers out there that are free or shareware. I'd suggest a shareware compiler called firstbasic, because it will sometimes compile QB files without any changes(depending on if you use the statements that it supports). It costs only $25!

I would also look at moonrock. It's not as cool as QuickBasic and the language is a bit different, but IT IS FREE!!!

Yea, it's tough to answer that second question. On one hand, it's illegal to download it as Bfriend sez. On the other hand, Billy G won't sell it to you.

Here are some sites you might want to take a look at, just for fun:

    http://qbfiles.8m.com/compilers.html

    http://people.ce.mediaone.net/atomduke/qbt50.htm

    http://home1.inet.tele.dk/thiemer/filer.htm

And one more that the silly "AI" script on this board won't let me post because of the word "Kockpit" in the URL. So I will just misspell it. Change the word back to the correct spelling for the correct URL.....

    http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Kockpit/3406/qbversions.html

By the way, QB4.5 seems to be the most popular, and it's easy to use.

    Enjoy!

    Here's another one:

On the electronics forum, It took me a while to figure out why it wouldn't let me talk about a kracked circuit board!!! I'm kinda tired of simple database engines declared as "artificial intelligence".
