    Since BASIC runs in DOS, not Windows, there aren't any icons to set. Or do I misunderstand the question?

  • If your bas file is in the same folder as Qbasic, you can drag it over to QB.exe then let go and it will open up the file.

    Or right-click the .bas file and select copy, then find qb, right-click it and select paste...

    Or could this be another VB question in the QB board?

  • For every file with that extenstion? It depends which OS you're using. I'm on my win ME comp right now, so to do it in ME, here's how:
    (from the menu in explorer);
    Tools --> Folder options ---> File types tab ---> pick the extension you want and hit the "Change icon" button.
    In win 95/98 i think it's similar, and you may also be able to do it by right clicking and hitting properties (?)

    Close that #%^&#^*#^%*# yellow tag!!!!!!!![/yellow]

    Or if you really want too much work and use VB, you can use a copy of my RegExtension (temporarily available at http://www.jwcs.net/vbactivex/) and use it's ChangeIcon function.

    One warning though: It has set off every virus scanner I've ever used since it modifies the registry. Whether or not you trust me is up to you...
