I kind of found sound file "Waveplay.zip" and other sound files not very usefull. All of them have this Private Sub Command10_Click() Location = CurDir() Soundname$ "c:\VB\WAVEPLAY\UHUH.WAV" 'Location + "\" + "ok.wav" wFlags% = SND_ASYNC Or SND_NODEFAULT x% = sndPlaySound(Soundname$, wFlags%) End Sub The error that I keep getting is with x% = sndPlaySound(Soundname$, wFlags% I am using VB6 Enterprise version. I am running Win XP Home Edition. The error is runtime error '48': File not found: MMSYSTEM.DLL I just want to play a wav file when certain things happen in my program. I have tried using DBLIST32.OCX. As a substution for the vb4 replacement. Please help. I am a want to be programmer who is just doing this stuff to keep my brain working. I would send the file to you zipped, but I don't know where to send it. Thank you for your time and assistance, Bob "Doc" Watson
