Is a freeware utility to modify resources in 32bit Windows
executables. It incorporates an internal resource script
compiler and decompiler and works on Win95, Win98, WinME,
WinNT, and Win2000 operating systems.

This tool is very usefull when I want to translate some small programs or make some changes in it...
I like it
but resources of some programs are only RCData..
its not so bad but very dificoult to edit big bitmapt :(

very easy to use and edit programs to make them more practicle or fun..like you can change the solitaire pictures on the cards to anything you like etc.

I used this tool to translate Win95 into estonian. also my win has now xp icons and cool 3d effects. little hard job but it was worth it. bitty that theres no new release of it.

shareware programs nowadays have cheap antihacker methods incorporated into them. i used to hack serialz with hexeditor, but it was too tedious. now i use reshack. most realone arcade games have no reg. window to enter serial. reshack! now i have one! its much faster than crawling through the web to find patchers.

I just upgraded to AIM 4.8, and they changed "File" to "My AIM", but I'm used to typing Alt-F Alt-A for my away message. Rather than learning something new, I decided to hack AimRes.dll. After screwing around with a hex editor for a half hour and no luck, I did a search for a resource hacker. ResHack took about three seconds to download, and about 30 seconds to open, figure out, and change the menu. If only all software were so easy to use and effective. Definitely recommended.

before the days of easy msn messenger/windows live skinning with msn plus people used to hack msn messenger/windows live directly to make skins and this tool was at the center of it all... also those custom themes for xp were a combination a theme file hacked by resource hacker and a one byte hack to a dll (can't remember its name though) with a hex editor normally xvi32 or hex workshop
