Java MP3 Player 2

Well it's taken a long time but it's finally here! Ever since
JMF removed support for mp3 files I've been looking for a way
to replace it that is reliable and cross-platform. Now thanks
to the FMod components of the LightWeight Java Game Library,
here it is. Works and looks even better than version 1. There
are tons of .mp3 players out in the world, freeware, shareware
and commercial, and they all get the job done. So why, you may
ask, write another one? A couple of reasons, really. First,
because there aren't many written in Java and I wanted to
demonstrate what Java is capable of. Second, it was a good
learning experience for me. Finally, because I wanted something
to use that was a little less obtrusive than WinAmp or
MusicMatch. Don't get me wrong those are both great products,
but I wanted something that took up less screen real estate and
memory. With Java Sourcecode.

javax media framework dependant starstarstar   Posted on Thursday, May 13, 2004

the application seems to be very, if not too dependant on the javax media framework, if i were developing this code i would have written the mp3 file reading routine instead of using that which is included in the media framework and use the framework for audio playback only, this gives you added advantage including local buffering of informationm recompression or streaming to an uncompressed waveform and development on platforms that have a cut down version of the framework.

Actually, I'm not using the media framework at all. Are you sure you're looking at my code?
