XMLmind XML Editor (XXE for short) is an XML editor featuring
DTD and XML Schema aware editing commands and a word
processor-like view configured using W3C's cascading style
sheets (CSS). XMLmind XML Editor is available in two editions:
[Standard Edition] This edition has all the features needed to
edit a document constrained by a DTD but has been restricted in
its support of XML Schema. XXE Standard Edition can be used at
no charge with a very liberal license. [Professional Edition]
This edition has more features than the Standard Edition
without having any of its technical and legal restrictions.
XMLmind XML Editor
makes content authors more productive,
excels at editing a mix of XML data and XML document,
has an integrated spreadsheet engine which makes it suitable for a broad range of applications,
is highly extensible and its extensions are easy to deploy.

WYSIWYG XML! Posted on Sunday, August 10, 2003

This is as close to WYSIWYG docbook XML as you can imagine! Previously Word was used for documentation but this is sooo much easier and it's free. A built in convert generates the HTML, (or RTF and PDF using external formatting objects).
