I used htmlArea in an application designed to give industrial machinery workers the ability to add problems, causes, and solutions to a dynamic knowledge base. Although I only used a portion of the whole product, it served its purpose well and myself and the company I developed it for are very pleased with the results. Too bad MSHTML isn't open source so we could use this product freely on the web and not limit our users. :(

everything you can do when you are composing an email in outlook express you can do with this tool - and much more. easy to setup, (i´m not a programmer.. but i can read this source - perfect commented), fully configurable - even the style of the buttons, so fast, plenty of plugins.. read their forum!!

We just introduced htmlArea into our content management product at Blueturtle.net. Everyone on our team has been VERY impressed. We try and support open source development. That usually means digging thru lots of bad code but htmlArea is the cleanest program to integrate I have ever seen.

We have a backend maintenance section for our website where
non-technical people can update information on our site. However this
has always been a tedious process because they do not understand how to
use basic HTML formatting. This product solves a big problem for me and
should hopefully lead to better content on our site. The best thing
about htmlArea is that it works straight away. You can add it to your
site in under five minutes. I wish I knew about this a long time ago.
