Simple to use. Nice and clean DAL design with noe custom libraries neeeded. Provides both autogenerated Windows and Web interface. Supporst major databases. If one is familiar with ASP like syntax, he/she can fairly easily create own templates, which I find fairly usefull. To top it all the Lit version (which allows max 15 tables of views mapped into the bussiness objects) is free. There are no 30 days limited trials. You will have enough time to evaluate the tool.

Wish it generated code for existing stored procs starstarstar   Posted by: oj on Thursday, February 03, 2005

Instead of looking at existing stored procedures in the database and generating data access code for them, it decides for you what stored procedures you need and generates associated code and sql. Not stellar. Organizations will have business logic in pre-existing stored procs. A serious product should leverage that investment by being able to generate code for THOSE stored procs, not its canned suggestions.

oj needs to look again starstarstarstarstar   Posted by: Jeremy on Wednesday, February 23, 2005

oj, if you looked closely at Raptier, you would find that you can select which database objects you want to generate code for. You can select/unselect fields and make them read only too. One can also get the enterprise version which allows you to use existing stored procedures. Raptier is a great product. If it doesn't do something I need it to do, all I have to do is make a change in a template.
