Bach is an interpreted language that is easy to use, has exceptional speed, and has the versatility to handle most programming chores. It provides garbage collection, and scan and run-time error checking to help catch many common errors. It is exceptionally fast, often 8 to 10 times the speed of python or perl. It has exceptions and a lightweight implementation of classes to help when the job gets more complex. There are only three data types to keep track of, though the user can define more using explicit type checks. The emphasis on simplicity is carried through to the libraries, which include the IUP gui interface with 'virtual layout' and the SQLite database with typeless fields. It handles DOS console applications, GUI applications and DLL interfacing and is well suited for 'RAD' development on small to medium size projects. If you have grown tired of C, Bach just might re-awaken the pleasure of programming again.
