excellent, but slow. starstarstarstar   Posted on Tuesday, May 24, 2005

As a 2nd year comp. sci student I have used BlueJ extensively. It would be fantastic if it wasn't so painfully slow.

The GUI is brilliant, and you can mess around with all your objects and do some really wacky stuff on BlueJ, perfect for experimenting with new ideas and answering those 'what if..' and 'I wonder...' type questions. The perfect way to learn Java - if it ran at a decent speed.

Please, please, speed up BlueJ - it really is an excellent tool, just too slow.
