SpudSoft?s TPrintPreview

This VCL component is designed to take over all printing functionality
within Delphi applications.  I hope that the help file covers everything you
need to know.

This is very much beta (maybe even alpha) software and I welcome any
comments you want to make about it.  My contact details are in the help
file.

The component is postcardware.  When I have sorted out all the inevitable
bugs in it I will make the source available as shareware.

To install it simply place everything in one directory, start Delphi up and
go to Install Components on the Options menu.  Click on the Add button and
then on the Browse button.  Find the file PrntPrev.DCU and open it.  Click
on OK and hopefully it will install without incident.

Unforunately, in a fit of negligence, I didn't include an necessary file the
first time I uploaded this.  That file (UTILITY.DCU) is now included.
The really annoying thing is it only includes two functions for calculating the
minimum and maximum of two integers.  Ho hum.

The help file is not yet integrated with the Delphi help system, it will be
in a few weeks time.  I am on holiday for a fortnight (from 20/9/95) and
will not be making any amendments until mid October, but please do send
comments to me and I?ll act on them as soon as I can.  This release is
slightly rushed because of this holiday, so please excuse all rough edges
(but tell me about them nonetheless).

I hope you find the idea of the component useful enough to help me turn it
into a solid reliable product that can be used by everyone.  I should manage
to do that just in time to find that Delphi32 has an all-singing all-dancing
print preview system built into it.

Known Problems:
1. Just found this one today:  Printing onto an HP LaserJet 4P at 600dpi from
Windows 95 produces very different results from 300dpi.  The 300dpi results
are what I wanted, the 600dpi need a lot of investigating.
2. I have found at least one printer driver that will not work with the Print
Setup common dialogue box within ANY 16 bit app running on Windows 95.  Be
warned, they?re may be more.
3. The clipping rectangle does not work with text on the aforementioned HP 4P,
though it does work with graphics.
4. A custom Abort dialogue box may, or may not work.  Sorry, I?m afraid I
haven?t tried it yet.  Please do, and let me know if it works, or not.

I'm now back from holiday and ready for comments.  The custom abort dialogue
box ought to work without any problems.  I've tidied up another bit too, that
hopefully you won't notice.

Enjoy.
