Please note that APM is published under a license similar to "GNU EMACS GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE" and therefore cannot be used unless you make your program open source and distribute it under the same license. Linking with proprietary programs requires permission of APM's author. This makes it much less useful than if it were licensed under, let's say, the GNU Library General Public License.
