Unreal Engine question:

Posted a 'new message on the Game programming forum.
How much coding, if any, is required in order to make a program off this thing? I'm under the impression that there is none, and that it is far simpler than writing a game of the same caliber than using the c++ api. If this is true, then should I work toward this instead of normal programming if my goal is to work on a surfing sim for, lets say, Nintendo in the near future? I am well versed in the Java language, and am certain C++ is the path I should follow before even applying for this job, but I am wondering if this would better suit my needs since I would rather not waste time in obtaining this goal. I can't help but think the Unreal Engine is for beginners in the world of game design with its lack of code input in exchange for mouse based programming, so is the U.E. hindered in any way (i.e. only fps-like games are in its abilities)? Thanks a bunch.
Inserting and deleting nodes for a doubly linked list, eUML

Posted the message 'Inserting and deleting nodes for a doubly linked list, eUML ' on the Java forum.
Can any of you help me out with this: I'm a fairly decent programmer, yet I want to know if there was a way to set up the majority of the nodes in UML. I am using Eclipse as my IDE if that makes any difference, and I still need to learn the items in the UML toolbar. Thanks alot for reading.

Posted the message 'Re: downloadable IDE link, help' on the Java Beginners forum.
: : What's the best IDE for download? Vista is preventing me from
: : uploading my current IDE from a cd, so it seems as if there are
: : compatibility issues going on. Thanks in advance.
: :
:
: I think Eclipse is a good IDE for Java. You can download it at
: http://www.eclipse.org/
:
Thanks. I dl'ed it and am liking it so far. Is there any reason why Eclipse is compatible with Vista and not JBuilder?
Re: Question on PS3, Wii, 360 devkits...

Posted the message 'Re: Question on PS3, Wii, 360 devkits...' on the Console programming forum.
: Normally C/C++ is used. Knowing Asm helps a lot as there could be
: lots of instances when you have to look at Asm code.
:
: : : : What language are these platforms developed under? I heard it was
: : : : the c language, but I'm not 100% positive. Reason I ask is because I
: : : : recently finished a semester in Java to prepare me for C++, but now
: : : : my teacher seems to want to lead me away from that language as if
: : : : its not the right path for me to take. I am not sure if he has a
: : : : gripe with Microsoft considering he's a big fan of Borland whom are
: : : : competitors with them atm, but he has advised me to take Data
: : : : Structures in Java over C++ for next semester. Would this be a good
: : : : idea if my goal is to work as a dev for Nintendo or whoever else in
: : : : less than 2-3 years?
: : : :
: : : Any knowledge of programming is helpful for any developer. The
: : : language itself is not really important, since if you're good at
: : : programming than learning a new language is not that difficult,
: : : especially from Java to C/C++.
: : : You should take as many lessons in Data Structures and algorithms as
: : : possible, while honing your C/C++ skills at home, possibly
: : : developing windows/linux games.
: :
: : Awesome!! Thank you.
: :
: : I actually picked out a programming magazine at Borders not too long
: : ago and had a chance to see some c# renditions of Arkanoid. Needless
: : to say, I found the similarities to Java to be ridiciously similar,
: : so now I'm sure you both are correct. Thanks again.
: :
:
Asm? Is that short for Assembly? Also, thanks for answering my question.
