how to configuring apache tomcat 5.0,,,....? Posted by Array3D on 26 Sept 2006 at 3:22 AM
hi,...
i'm a newbie in jsp...
the first of all i have to ask all of you how to configuring the jsp editor in my computer...
where directory i should put my web server...?
and can you explain to me what is the $CATHALINA_HOME????
AND how i can execute the startup file for aphace<startup.bat> ???
when i try to execute the file the message show like this : " Please configure your Java environment....
and also i will ask about the jdk and jre...what are they??notice i already install both of them.
i'm sorry for my fool questions...but i would like to thx to all of u who wants to give me some detailed explanation...plzzz thx b4..
btw, sorry for my poor english bcoz i'm from non-english speak country...

jdk: Java Developer's Kit
jre: Java runtime environment (or engine I'm not sure)
jdk are several classed and documentation necessary of compilers and the development stage
jre is the virtual machine on which java runs.
