Hi All:

I encountered several times my MS VC++6 hang up while compiling my code. The status message shows "Linking" and does not proceed any more.

However there are also time when the compiling is successful.

Does anyone who what could have cause this?
How to rectify if the hang-up problem happens?

We had such an issue at work, but that was with Visual Studio 2005. If VS 2005 runs for a week or more without shutting down - it will begin exhibiting strange behavior, like not compiling obviously correct code and other stuff, like unresolved externals linker errors and such. All we had to do it to restart VC++ 2005 and same code was compiled properly.
