Force DataGridView to reload data when database updated

I've been trying various methods here and none seem to work. Here is my scenario. I have a phone book application that has two forms, the first is just a raw listing of all the entries and I have a button on the form that leads to the data entry screen. I click the Add button and it goes to the data entry screen fine. I enter my data, click submit and it responds that data inserted ok. I click my OK message and am sent back to the directory listing, however my latest entry is not there. I'm open to ideas and suggestions. Thanks!!!

Hi,
I starting application using C#.net windows.

In this wanted to change appearance of Form title bar and border like third party controls have.

In my case want to do by own without third party components.

Is it possible or not?

Please suggest me example on this topic.

I want to change the form border and title bar style by applying themes.

Is der any way i can apply themes by c# code iteself without using any third party controls.

Please suggest some idea or example on this.

Code not working in rdlc report

Hello,

I am creating a c# Winforms Application, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

Within this project I created a rdlc report, which is used in a report viewer.

I've added a dataset, and when the program is ran, the fields display fine. The fields display as [Field1] or [Firstname] in design view, and show their actual value when the program has ran.

I have added a table into the report which showes item description, quantity and price. I want to find the total of the price of the items. I have tried entering in the textbox =Sum(itemunitprice) or =Sum(fields!itemunitprice.value), and when the program has ran it doesn’t calculate the total, just displays =Sum(fields!itemunitprice.value).

I'm not sure if this information is useful, but when I first made the report I tried to concatenate the FirstName field with the Surname field, so I tried =[Firstname] & " " & [Surname]. Once again when the program ran it displayed =[Firstname] & " " & [Surname]. When I replaced the textbox text with [Firstname] [Surname] the report displayed the data as it should.

i have a win forms application in whcih i have used eports

the reports are in a seperate folder REPORT in the application roots directory

but when i build the application & try to view the repoprt i get msg as report not avalibale in the bin/debug folder

if i copy paste this report in the specified folder i get it executed

why cant it access directly from the REPORT folder

reset winform counter after backgroundWorker1_RunWorkerCompleted

Hi
i have a simple winform using backgroundWorker1
inside the backgroundWorker1_DoWork i am looping and counting something
and show the counter on the form using InvokeRequired
The problem is when click Btn_arrang the first time everything works great
but when it finish the job and get to backgroundWorker1_RunWorkerCompleted
and i press the button Btn_arrange_Click again the form starts at counter2 it ended tha lst time
for exapmle if the counter2 was 10 the first time so the nexttime i press the arrange_click it will start from number ten even if i reset it to zero at backgroundWorker1_RunWorkerCompleted

hi!!
I have a problem to making in urdu text editor.
i had done some work on urdu characters,
i work on unicode, but some keys are still not working, like delete key, backspace key and numbers keys are not working, and when I press enter the cursor moves to next line but there is a 0 appear with cursor that was not removed so in order to remove the 0 I do restart the application... Can any one help me.

Winform cell_click event acts strange

Form has a filter option at top and an editable grid with a save button.

Standard stuff to test for Did they click the button in the grid?

When I use a filter I will loop through the cell_click event for each time I have changed the filter?

I use no filters, one on time through cell_click event.

Identify first filter and I cycle through the cell_click event twice. ??????

Change filters 5,6,7 times and I will cycle through this a lot! WHY?

Anyone have a heads up on this?

hello every body.

i have 2 datagridview.

first gridview contains comboboxes,that create dynamically with DataGridViewComboBoxColumn.

so...
each column have a 1 combobox in top of itselft.

i want to when i choose a item in 1 or more combobox,those column under that combobox,insert to database.

for example:

3 column
so..3 combobox top of these.

i want to select one item (for example : title ) of combobox 1,and then all of rows in column 1,insert to sample table,to title field.

At last i solved the problem. What i did is rebooted my pc in safe mode with command prompt and executed system restore. Ah..., got all my stuffs back....

Hi Friends,

I have a strange problem and I need your support to get this resolved. Recently I have created a setup and deployment project for my VB.NET application. In that seup project unknowingly I changed the command section to .exe. Now after Installing the application in my pc, whatever application I open it opens that vb.net exe file.

Could you guys have any solution to fix this....

Pulling time from online servers thru VB.NET

Hi,

My requirement is to pull time from TIME SERVERS through .NET code to avoid time manipulation in my project which needs to record time for users when they start particular task and system clock can be changed to record wrong timings. I need to pull this time in IST.

I was able to get some links but unable to write codeThe links are:
NIST Internet time service
ftp://time-a.nist.gov/pub/daytime/
NIST Internet Time Service clock
Current local time in India

One of the above link has source code of windows utility in C# which I am not familiar with. We can just get the code from the utility that just queries the server and then use the time. We have to make the application to randomly choose a server from a list of servers if you have query lots of times as they deny requests if queried multiple times in a period.

Please help me with sample code.

I was trying to enumerate an emf using EnumerateMetafile for one of my tool which needs to parse EMF.However what i notice is that not all GDIComment records are enumerated.Also Since GDIComment records may have GDI+ calls , GDI+ calls inside comments are enumerated but only the inner GDI+ comments are enumerated ,how do i know if these GDI+ comments are encapsulated inside a GDI+ comment body?

Calculated Columns in Type Dataset (VS 2005)

Hi there. I've been into C# for a while and for my atonishment I'm stuck in the most absurd thing:

1)I'm using VS 2005 and a Type Dataset( C# AND WINFORM)
2)I add two tables (Parent and child) with the proper relation
3)I add a calculated column in the child table with the following expression (Parent.[columnname])to retrieve data from the Parent table

4)At run time the calculated column returns just only null vale.

I don't really know what's wrong generating calculated columns with Type dataset.I use to create almost the bussiness logic in code but need to develop fast this time. I don't have problem when I approach the same "in the fly".

Is there some trick with the strong type dataset I'm missing?. I've try modifying the relation between tables and it seems this isn't the problem.

PLEASE HELP !!!.

hello, I am having a microprocessor communicating with a C# windows form application for receiving data through ethernet. initially i start a communication with the microprocessor and the values are being displayued on the tesxtbox using the invoke function(thread delegate used). But sometimes, it looks like there has been a buffer overflow on the textbox, i recveive some junk values and the communication stops. has anyone come across this problem. Quite not sure what is happening. the data that the microprocessor is sending is of a fixed size and has a '\0' at the end.please help
