Long time listner, first time caller. Love the show.

I'm a hardware guy (ie dsp, microcontroller, pld, etc.) and would like to make a kind of "cross platform" (generic) mp3 player, however as so many on this board have so eloquently pointed out, the algorithm is not to be found. I'll be writing my own code from scratch (probably VHDL) and would be more than willing to share when finished.
For those who are not willing to share code but have written their own decoders, you must have the algorithm. Please, allow the unwashed masses to have the ultimate knowledge of the MP3 decoding algorithm, I beg of you.
