Hi,
Microsoft itself provides some tools to extend the functionality of MS applications especially for office.

If u can get Visual Studio Tools For Office u can get.
For more information search in http://msdn.microsoft.com for VSTO.
It requires Office 2003 with SP,VSTO,.NET 2005.
