VB.NET 2003 and XML database

Hi guys,
I have made this small database type software using vb.net 2003 and it use .xml database. I need to decrypt this .xml file so that the data could not be manipulate/change by the user. Can anyone give suggestion in encryption and decryption of my database so that it will be well protected.

Any suggestion and help will be highly appreciated.
