Anyone knows a not heavy developing tool for VB? Posted by hstagni on 7 Sept 2004 at 7:16 AM
I wonder if anymone knows a not heavy and good developing tool for Visual Basic. I don' t want to use MS VB 6.0 because i have a kind of old computer.If the program doesn't need to be intalled, perfect. But i can intall it if it isn't so heavy.

VB6 didn't seem to require much, it ran fine on a 700mhz cpu with only 256Mb. The system requirements indicate a 486/66mhz, win95, and 16mb ram but that would probably be abysmal. .NET is a different story. Microsoft also released VB Express but since its built on .NET you would still need a fast cpu.

There are other Basic languages such as Real Basic and True Basic but I haven't used either. They have free eval versions.
