if i want to create a task bar like OS(win98 etc) has,
then what control should i use.

and what control should i use for start menu

For Win98 style you can use a picture box with radio buttons (with Style property set to 1) in it. For WinXP style and start menu, you'll have to be more creative. May be you can gather images and then play around with picture boxes, labels and different event.
