time trying it :) learn a better language instead

learn c/c++ or pascal you might look at the site about the java OS i think its at java.org or some thing like that but basic is to basic to do an OS but what i want to know is is it good for games?

I Don't realy know anything about Linux but I have made some operating systems in Qbasic and there is a page I found that gave me the code.
