hi all

I had two questions and coudnt get an answer first was how to convert .BAS files to standalone .EXE files the answer was to get a QB 4,5 or higher and the second was how to find it...

Look around its out there. The reason no one is telling you is because it is illegal for anyone to give 4.5 away for free. But... there are people who offer it for free anyways.

There are other compilers out there that are free or shareware. I'd suggest a shareware compiler called firstbasic, because it will sometimes compile QB files without any changes(depending on if you use the statements that it supports). It costs only $25!

I would also look at moonrock. It's not as cool as QuickBasic and the language is a bit different, but IT IS FREE!!!

Yea, it's tough to answer that second question. On one hand, it's illegal to download it as Bfriend sez. On the other hand, Billy G won't sell it to you.
