Since BASIC runs in DOS, not Windows, there aren't any icons to set. Or do I misunderstand the question?

If your bas file is in the same folder as Qbasic, you can drag it over to QB.exe then let go and it will open up the file.

Or right-click the .bas file and select copy, then find qb, right-click it and select paste...

Or could this be another VB question in the QB board?

For every file with that extenstion? It depends which OS you're using. I'm on my win ME comp right now, so to do it in ME, here's how:
(from the menu in explorer);
Tools --> Folder options ---> File types tab ---> pick the extension you want and hit the "Change icon" button.
In win 95/98 i think it's similar, and you may also be able to do it by right clicking and hitting properties (?)

Close that #%^&#^*#^%*# yellow tag!!!!!!!!

Or if you really want too much work and use VB, you can use a copy of my RegExtension (temporarily available at http://www.jwcs.net/vbactivex/) and use it's ChangeIcon function.

One warning though: It has set off every virus scanner I've ever used since it modifies the registry. Whether or not you trust me is up to you...
