Builder C++ 2007 Posted by Denny_B on 23 Dec 2007 at 6:11 PM
Hi,
just wonder if anybody has ver. 2008 of Borland Builder C++? I use ver. 6 and consider to upgrade. Is it worth it?
Thanks,

There is no 2008 version available yet. Maybe you mean C++ Builder 2007?

The benefits are:
1. IDE and compiler enhancements
2. Indy 10 (or Indy 9 if you prefer)
3. Vista support (special vista dialogs)
4. Themes support for Windows XP and Vista
5. UML
6. Refactoring
7. Maybe more...

The most important benefit are the enhancements on the compiler. Building projects is much faster than using C++ Builder 6.0.

If you don't like spending money on a new update but you wish to speed up your C++ Builder 6.0. You can try TwineCompile from Jomitech.

But if you buy C++ Builder 2007 before March the 15th, you get Delphi for PHP for free!

I'm very pleased with C++ Builder 2007. :)

Thanks for your reply,
yes, I meant Buider 2007.
I have not decided on the upgrade yet, but I have to think fast,
I use Builder 6.0 on Vista with no problems,
and I am happy with compiler as well, so the most beneficial would be the IDE improvements, maybe UML and Delphi for PHP.
