Programming a GUI for an open source OPUS audio encoder

Hi,

I would like to create an open source encoder GUI for the new Opus(totally open, royalty-free, highly versatile) audio codec.
It is standardized by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and has a better audio quality then mp3, vorbis and aac at similar bitrates.

OPUS have no dedicated GUI yet. I have good ideas but no programming skils for GUI, I know C language from electrical ingineering classes.

What I would need you to do:

Create a simple interface with an input file list (drag and drop compatible if possible), options for the opus encoder, output folder and start cancel buttons.

Then feed commands to the good codecs according to this diagram:

Of course it is just an idea ant I will make a better diagram if you accept the mission.

What I will do:

-Give you some information and ideas
-Create diagrams
-Find codecs (and authorizations)
-Give you the appropriate commands for each codec if you need them
-Create and host the website for the project and more)

Contact me if you are interested by this simple project. Thank you for your interest!
Programmer Wanted - Someone Who Is Tired Of Nonsense

My name is Jonathan White. My background is in art and my education is in design. I can't find work and I've had closed doors after closed doors. I'm tired. I'm disheartened. I'm embarrassed. I just want to work in games without all the nonsense, people bailing on projects and the like.

I'm looking for one programmer. Just one. I don't want a fleet of people working because that is a disaster waiting to happen. Been down that road. So, I need one person who is:

-Capable of building an engine. 2D sprites, particles, weight(?), UI, gameplay, simple enemy AI... the works. We're making a game after all.
-Collaborating and communicating over Skype/e-mail/other services. We'll be sharing phone numbers as well, most likely.
-Ready to commit. I don't know how long it will take. There will be a lot of frustrations, blood, sweat, and tears. We may not have anything for months but we're smart (you're smarter than me), committed, we're going to have milestones, a business model, keep one another in check. You're through screwing around and you're ready to commit for yourself and your career. You're ready to make this a portion of your life. Not just an hour here and there.
-Honest and have integrity.
-You can visualize things in your mind pretty well.

Bonus points if you:
-Tend to like competitive, cooperative, team games, or otherwise games that don't spoon feed you victory.
-Tend to like retro style graphics, 2D art, but you also play newer games as well. You're a farily well rounded gamer.
-Can take criticisms well. Same with me. If you think something should be changed, you're not afraid to say something.
-Played cooperative games, understand concepts like the trinity and action based combat.
-Can do "network stuff". This will be a cooperative game.
-Have experience with scheduling, management, and have good people skills
-You can write. Totally optional, but would be cool.

If you're interested, my e-mail is my user name @gmail.com or my Skype name is "xflopjack". Serious inquires only. I can't stress this enough. Do not be that guy who is excited for a few weeks then suddenly isn't heard from again. I'm not trying to be mean, I would love to hear from all of you and chill out and eat pizza, but I can't. I love pizza though.

We'll discuss the details and we can figure out if we're a good fit and if you're interested.
Hello, I am starting to develop a game called "Doors." I have some coding experience with java and python, but am looking for a more experienced coder who can help.

Doors is a multiplayer shooter in which you have a team of other players with you. The object of the game is to clear out all of the rooms. Each room has an opponent that spawned there on from the opposite team (Two Teams: Attackers, and Defenders). Once all of the doors are cleared the Attackers win. But if time runs out, then the Defenders win.

I already have some music tracks, and sound effects, but haven't really worked on the code.
If you could help out, that would be great! Fell free to email me at saturnplanetmc@gmail.com or add me on Skype: saturnplanet13
I need help with developing and designing a website for social networking. A website and mobile app almost similar to Facebook but with a more definitive purpose of "interests". I would appreciate if someone with a very good knowledge of social networking website development can join me in starting this and we'll discuss the in-depth purpose of this website and we'll be on our way to Silicon Valley. I promise it is an idea that can compete with Facebook in the nearest future.
Infinity - Xbox 360 Research Toolkit

Hello, I know this is my first post, but please don't treat me as a coding noob. But anyway, I'd like to create a set of tools to basically simulate the xbox 360's file systems and file formats. So, basically a user will be able to open and edit any files extracted from their Xbox 360 console or Xbox 360 HDD. I also want to add support for the FATX file system, so that users can explore their Xbox 360 HDD's.

I am looking for (2) C++ developers to help me. Keep these things in mind:

I've already started on the IO classes
I'm using the Qt Framework, and I'd like everything to use Qt if possible
The project will be released under an open source license(i havent decided which yet)

Want to help? Send me a message.

I am not sure if i am in the rite place for this question but i want to know if it is possable to create an algorithm based around a name or a word.

The end result for this is to create a unique aesthetic logo derived from an object which can be 3d printed and doesnt look like complete chaos.

If anyone can point me in the rite direction or answer my question it would be a great help. I am a complete novice and have little to know idea what i am talking about so try not to be too wordy in your explinations.

Thanks,
Hi All,

I am not sure if i am in the rite place for this question but i want to know if it is possable to create an algorithm based around a name or a word.

The end result for this is to create a unique aesthetic logo derived from an object which can be 3d printed and doesnt look like complete chaos.

If anyone can point me in the rite direction or answer my question it would be a great help. I am a complete novice and have little to know idea what i am talking about so try not to be too wordy in your explinations.

Thanks all,

Million Dollar Partnership

I am looking for a programmer who is familiar with web design and programming (database's, php, creating a script, ect)

About a year or two ago i had a partner who was a programmer. He created various sites for me including developing an affiliate platform to track sales connected to a merchant account gateway.

I need someone to fill his shoes. I will provide much more extensive info for interested people.

Just for a piece of mind though. I owned 70% and my programmer owned 30%. We processed $1.6million dollars in 9 months. Our net profit was well above 400k. Then niche i work with is small, but very big volumes and I have clients ready to work with us.

serious and qualified inquires only. r.c.dsouza [at] gmail.com
Rablo Games looking for a programmer

EDIT : The place is taken. Thanks to those who have applied.

Hi,

Rablo Games is currently working on a video game for PC called Lost Spirits of Kael, and need a talented programmer to help realize it.

About the project :

Lost Spirits of Kael is an independant 2D action-RPG videogame with emphasis put on ambiance. Lost in a mysterious misty forest, you'll have to find your way back home.
Graphics will be stylized to be looking like painted sketches, so ambiance and colors will prevail over details. I want the game to have an "artistic" feel, as well in graphics, than music (solo piano, harp, other small ensembles mixed with synthesizers) and scenario.

The game tells the story of a painter that has lost inspiration for many month, and decide to go looking for it in the old Forest of Kael, despite the numerous strange legends speaking about this place. While wandering, he hears the sound of an harp, and decide to figure out who's playing. He then meets a mysterious and beautiful harpist. When she finishes playing, the forest becomes shrouded in fog while mysterious ghosts and creatures have appeared. The painter will have to find his way through the forest, and discover what really happened.

The game will feature very few dialogues and probably no cut scenes at all. The player will discover the story through gameplay. Note that I want the game to be hard.
If I should name 2 games that inspired Lost Spirits of Kael, I'd say Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus.

Lost Spirits of Kael is under development since around 4 months, meanning a lot of work has already been done.
The main character animations are 70% finished (around 330 single artworks have been created for him). The backgrounds still need some work as about 40 screens have been drawn.
There’s around 20 minutes of music written so far.
The game design document is nearly finished, with really precise informations for the programmer. It is 20 pages long, and this do not include maps and dialogues. All game mechanics are finished of course.

You can see some screenshots and other info on the game's website : http://rablogames.wordpress.com
I'll handle the graphics, music and game design myself, as I'm currently alone in Rablo Games' "offices".

Who am I looking for :

One (or possibly two) talented programmer, experimented if possible (please link to examples of your works if you have some). At the very least, you should be absolutely sure to be able to complete this project (no beginners) and to be available for at least one year, until the end of the development. It is a solo game, so no network skills are required.

The idea is to give ourselves short milestones every weeks, so please make sure you don't have other projects running, and have a good bunch of hours every week to work on the project.

I'm not rich, but in the meantime I want you to feel sure about your work being rewarded, so we can discuss about milestones' delays and payment. In addition you will of course get a percentage when the game releases.

Please send me an email to rablogames@gmail.com if you feel motivated about this project and you think you can handle the job. Of course I'll give you more details on the game by email.
You can also follow the game's Twitter : @rablogames

Thanks for your time and interest !

Pablo from Rablo Games
Programmer/Beta Testers for FSX

I am seeking a programmer familiar with Microsoft FSX, and a few beta-testers to help me complete the ultimate Flight Simulator tool. This program will make it easy for any FSX simmer, modeler, or Real-World pilot to incorporate Real World engine and aerodynamics into any aircraft within their FSX library. The program includes many aerodynamic mathematic formulas and routines that are never used by any payware or freeware modelers, or even those who offer model upgrades. This program will make it easy for anyone who desires to witness the reality of their chosen aircraft within FSX, and will assist real-world pilots and airlines in training scenarios using FSX. The programmer will be paid 50% of the proceeds, and the beta-testers will receive free versions, with updates, of the program, for life! The Programmer must be a U.S. citizen.
New File Sharing Service Needs Testers

Hey all!

I've been working for a little while now on a simple cloud-based file sharing service which utilises various cloud technologies on the back-end to make it as easy and as fast as possible to download and upload files and media, and to share them over the internet. The site boasts base upload speeds of around 650kb/s and download speeds of over 1.1mb/s, depending on usage, which is significantly higher than many popular file sharing services such as MediaFire.

Visit http://www.bubblenet.co.uk if you want to test it out for yourself.

The service is fairly simple at the moment, but as more and more features are added, I will probably need at least one person to help test out the site in order to locate bugs, as well as to find ways in which the service could be generally improved in terms of simplicity, stability and speed.

If you're interested, let me know.
