First I'd like to apologize for the subject. It may not be the appropriate one.(English not my native tongue) I'm really thinking of shifting from an ERP career to becoming a DBA (Oracle specifically).Do you think it is a wise move? By becoming a DBA,my skills is applicable to a wider range of applications not just a single ERP. But the advantage of being in ERP is, specialization. There is a smaller competition in the job market since less people have that skill.
