Help!!!ARM9 based dev kit!!! Posted by leon20008 on 4 Jul 2008 at 1:23 AM
Hi everybody, I'm looking for an ARM9 based development kit, with the SDRAM of at least 64M, ethernet, audio and LCD connection. I have been looking around for a long time and found nothing exactly meets my requirement. Since you guys have much more experiences in this area than me, would you plz recommend one to me? thanks a lot!

Hi~
I found one kit at www.developmentboard.net this morning and I found it really nice. First of all the AT2440 kit meets most of my requirement, and contains all the necessary accessaries. The price is reasonable. And what attract me the most is that the company Hiteg provides me English instruction files, so I can modify it by myself in the future and learn more about the embedded things.

Thank you Leon,
I followed your suggestion and went there and eventually bought my SBC2410 board.
and I agree with you, it's really nice. I can absolutely not complain their products and service.
However when I received this board I was required by the Fedex express to pay some duty payment...
Did you also pay that?

Yes, things like mini2440 (Samsung S3C2440A) based processor are nice and cheap. However, they are getting slowly outdated. You might want to look into more modern ARM9 processors that support DDR2 memory (up to 256Mb).

For example, check Atmel SAM9G45 processor. Nice dev boards here (but not ready): http://www.mini-box.com/pico-SAM9G45-X?sc=8&category=1130

The nice thing about this processor SAM9G45 is that it can handle up to 256Mb of DDDR2, thus making it capable of running Android, etc.

I don't think the S3C2440 is being outdated, it is still very popular among friends and colleagues around me. see also the FL2440 with 3.5" LCD from http://www.arm9board.net, quit nice device with a quit reasonable price, $105
